Day 76 of 80 — No.43, King Edward’s Road

Around London in 80 days

In these uncertain times, I need a lifeline and a horizon so I  have — somewhat arbitrarily I’ll admit — set a date. April 1st will be  my horizon ; my lifeline will be the 80 days separating me from it.
And as I cannot go around the world right now, I give you A Mad Belgian’s “Around London in 80 Days” : eighty impressions of London, eighty stories, places, thoughts from my experience of this wonderfully mad and maddening city.

Day 76: No.43, King Edward’s Road

As I walk home from Victoria Park I often make a detour via King Edward’s Road.

See, just outside no. 43, there is a friendly cat. Day in day out, he stands outside and awaits passers-by.

If you stand still for a second, if you say hello to him, he’ll purr and rub himself against your legs. A very welcome greeting, warm and comforting.

One day I’ll knock on the door of no.43, I’ll meet “my” cat’s family… maybe they, too, will be friendly !
